Sony announced Tuesday that the PlayStation VR is launching in Canada in October 2016 with a suggested retail price of $549.99.
The PlayStation VR (or PS VR) is a virtual reality headset that connects to the PS4 to open up a whole new world of gaming. Think of it this way – if the PS4 was next-gen gaming, this is going to be next-next gen gaming (and could make me finally upgrade from my PS3).

With more than 230 developers working on games for the PS VR, including 2K Games and Ubisoft, Sony expects a total of 50 games to be available for the system by the end of 2016.
Some of the titles expected this year include RIGS: Mechanized Combat League, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, Wayward Sky and PlayStation VR Worlds. There’s also an all-new version of Star Wars Battlefront coming to the device, which should be an amazing experience.

Additional features like Cinematic mode will allow PS VR users to enjoy 360 degree videos, photos and apps on the device. You’ll also be able to use the PS VR as a large-format screen for regular PS4 games.
Now if Sony can convince Microsoft to port Minecraft over to the PS VR, it could be the hottest item for Christmas this year!
