Thinking about taking a vacation south of the border in the next few months? You might want to consider a trip to Myrtle Beach.

In an effort to stir up tourism, businesses in the South Carolina vacation hub have joined forces to offer Can-Am Days Deals to Canadian tourists, in part putting the loonie on par with the greenback (the loonie is currently trading at .71 cents US so this is a very welcomed deal).

Canadians heading to Myrtle Beach will be able to get up to 60 per cent off at select hotels and 30 per cent off certain attractions and at select restaurants. And there are lots of great things to do in Myrtle Beach (even for the kids). As a bonus, the average temperature for Myrtle Beach in February is 15.5C and for March it’s 20C.

The Can-Am Days Deals is on until April 30 with the 55th annual Can-Am Days Festival running March 12 – 20.

Thinking about booking a family trip to Disney World? Check out this hot deal

Disney World

My son and I in front of the Magic Kingdom at Disney World in Florida in 2010.

Walt Disney World is one of the most magical places on Earth and you’d be hard-pressed to find someone with anything negative to say after a visit. But it’s also one of the most expensive vacation destinations you and your family will ever take. So when there’s a deal to be had, it’s worth sharing.

This offer I recently found is open to Canadian residents only and is good for a family of four to stay “near the magic” at participating Walt Disney Good Neighbor Hotels and Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels in Orlando, Florida for a total of five nights.

Packages start at US$1613 (based on two adults, one child and one junior) and include four days worth of tickets to the park (good for access to Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios).

Your trip must be booked before March 31, 2016 and be completed before July 1, 2016 and must be booked via a Disney World vacation planning expert or travel agent.
